Yesterday was an historic day, Green Bay won the Superbowl taking down Pittsburgh 31-25 in a well fought game. I give credit to the Steelers for playing well but after the Packers were able to capitalize on 3 Steelers turnovers their game was over. This marks a first in Superbowl history as Green Bay started off the playoffs as a #6 wildcard seed. This represents the first time a wildcard team has ever won the superbowl and also ends the Packers dry streak since 1996 when the defeated the Patriots to win Superbowl XXI. Many sports historians know well of the winning history of Green Bay under the leadership of Vince Lombardi and it is a fitting testament to Green Bay's legacy that the trophy bearing his name is coming home. Congratulations to everyone on a game well played, I look forward to the start of the 2011 season.
