Virgin Mary Calls for day of prayer and fasting to prepare for The Warning

I just want to share this one.  To all Catholics who believes in God please let's pray the rosary, not just today but everyday.  Its up to you guys if you want to believe it or not. It doesn't hurt if we follow it....

This Message was received by Maria Divine Mercy after two separate apparitions of the Virgin Mary – one which took place at midnight January 29 and the second at 13.00 hours on Monday January 30 2012 during which the Virgin Mother appeared very sorrowful throughout.
My child while my Son comes now to cover the whole world with His rays of Mercy it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that many people will die during The Warning.
Pray, pray, pray for their souls.
You, my child must ask all of the followers of these divine messages to allocate tomorrow Tuesday 31 January 2012 as a special day of prayer.

On this day you must recite the Most Holy Rosary and the Divine Mercy prayer.
Where possible everyone must try and fast during this day. In this way more souls, especially those in mortal sin, at the time of death can be saved by the mercy of my beloved Son Jesus Christ.
I cry tears of sorrow for those poor people who have no idea how much pain and anguish their sins cause my Son.
The joy of the gift that my Son now brings the world is tinged with sadness for those who cannot be saved by their own choice.

The lies which will spring and spread all over the world by dark souls after The Warning takes place must be stopped through your prayers.
Pray that no one will deny my Son’s Divine Mercy during or after The Warning. For every soul lost to such lies is a soul that will be seized by the evil one.
Spread conversion everywhere children. Accept that I am the Co-Redemptive and Mediatrix working closely with my beloved Son Jesus Christ to save all souls from eternal ruination.
My love for you children is very strong. I plead for mercy for each soul every second of the day by begging My Father for clemency.
But children you must help by joining with me in prayer and sacrifice to help all of God’s children enter the gates of the New Paradise.
Your Heavenly Mother
Mother of Salvation

New Eyeglasses

It's been 5 years since I got my eyes checked and so my husband finally told me the other day when I ran into the door frame for the 4th time... I need new glasses.  Yeah, I think he's right, the other night I was calling for the cat to come in but it was a raccoon.  My only problem is that we really don't have the money to spend on glasses right now with both of being out of work.  I thought it's so impossible to get new glasses until I found $6.95 prescription eyeglasses at Zenni Optical.

Zenni is one of the new breed of online prescription eyeglass retailers who breathe a new life of thriftiness into an industry that is otherwise expensive.  My mother-in-law spent over $200 for her glasses but through Zenni I can get them for as low as $6.95 which is one heck of a good deal. They offer a wide array of styles to choose from, including some holiday themed glasses.  I think the ones in the picture above would be great for a Valentine's Day gift don't you?  Zenni's service doesn't stop with a great pair of glasses, they offer many freebies with your order such as a case and cleaning cloth as well as anti-scratch coating which would be good for me since I tend to be hard on my glasses.  Stop by their website and take a look at what they offer, I'm sure you will find something you like.

My New Favourite Fruit

Since I arrived here in the US, I haven't seen any mangoes that I like. The ones I have seen that come from Mexico are like more of an apple mango than the ripe mango that we have in the Philippines.  Its color is green and red and its already ripe but doesn't look ripe to me. Our Philippine mango is yellow when its ripe, that's what I really miss, the taste of it, the sweetness. I really miss it so much, not just mangoes but I miss all the fruits in the Philippines, its just  so easy over there to go to the mall or in your neighborhood sari-sari store and you can buy all the fruits that you want.

Wordless Wednesday: The Osprey

Oh look its a Chicken! Oh no its a Big Bird!

Our House...

Last week I wrote about having been in the United States for 2 months. Today I'd like to describe to you the house and the neighborhood I'm living in with my husband . When I first was planning to move to the USA I was worried that the house was in the province, you know what I mean if you are Pinay.  A house that is out where there is no jeepney, no malls, and nothing to do.  In a way I was right, but it's not as bad as I imagined.  The house is, as the Americans call it, "The Suburbs" about 14 miles from the downtown of Jacksonville.  There's bus here, but it is very infrequent... so much so that I miss the jeepney from the Phils.  You really have to have a car if you are living in the USA because the public transportation is so hard to follow.  We are within walking distance of a couple of shopping centers but it's almost 1k to walk there.  Going to church is also a problem as the only really good Catholic church is downtown which means getting up at 5am to catch a bus and go downtown for the 8am mass.  Plus the fee is so mahal!  $1 per ride or P43! Grabeh!

The good thing is we are near the beach here, just a short drive and you are there... but at this time of year the water is too cold to want to swim and the waves are bigger than I am used to.  My husband also said there are sharks in the waters here although he assures me that they are (relatively) harmless.  Here in the house we also have a swimming pool, and yes those are ducks.  They show up every spring and stay until they find a pond to mate in and raise their young.  The only problem with the swimming pool is the same as the ocean this time of year, too cold to swim in.  Perhaps if I had a pool heater to warm the water we could use it all year long.

In all fairness, I am very happy here for the moment.  My husband and I are planning to buy a house downtown after we get back from working in Alaska.  This house is just too big for the 3 of us (my father-in-law lives here as well) and we want something less expensive and more sized to our needs.

Ever Download a Youtube Video?

Did you know that there is a non-frustrating way to download Youtube videos now?  I wasn't aware of this myself until fairly recently and I spend quite a bit of time on Youtube just watching videos.   There were quite a few times when I thought to myself "Wouldn't it be nice if I could save this video."  Well the first step in figuring out how to download videos from you tube is to get a 3rd party download program.  There are quite a few of them out there but the link provided here will take you to one of the best. Simply download and install it and soon you will be downloading your favorite youtube videos.

One Step At A Time

For all those who follow my blog, you know that I just arrived here in the states 2 months ago. I received my Permanent Resident Card (GC)  3 weeks after arriving over here and after that we decided to apply for my Social Security Number.  After just 4 days I received my SSN card in the mail.  I was so excited when I received it because it means I can finally start applying for a job, and here in the USA you can't apply for a job unless you have a SSN and of course a Green Card.  I started applying online, at first I was so excited because a couple of the places I had applied to called me back for an interview.  The first interview was okay but I didn't hear anything from them so I was thinking they hired someone else. The next was so far away from where we live, about 22 miles, so I chose not to go to the interview.  I did not lose hope, at this moment I'm still trying to apply online.

My only complaint about finding a job here in the US is its hard, especially  if you are a new immigrant, because they require job references, which I don't have because all my friends are and references are in the Philippines. Also, it is harder for me because I do not currently have a driver's license. I think its very important that you know how to drive and of course its also hard when you don't have a car of your own, because unlike in the Philippines, where I came from, you can't commute, there is no jeepney, just bus service which is horrible here in Jacksonville thanks to JTA.  I just want something to do while waiting for May to arrive because (God willing) I'm going to work with my husband in Alaska. Unfortunately there's still a long way to go and I don't want to just stay in the house and do nothing for four months.

So I did some research and discovered that the library near our house is offering a free ESL (English as a Second Language) class. I was very happy that the class is free, except for the gas to drive back and forth hahaha.  The class itself is 2 times a week and lasts until May. Barbara, the teacher, called earlier, she wants to see me and administer an oral test so that she will know what level of my English that needs improvement.  I'm so happy and excited because finally I get a chance to meet new friends. I was thinking I will just do one step at a time and who knows I can get a job soon... XOXO

Pimp My Cube Contest

Are you tired of working in your office with all the clutter just about everywhere.  Is your cubicle or office  very messy, unorganized, dirty? You are not alone,  I'm also very tired of seeing our room with all the stuff just about everywhere.  Our room is very small  and at the same time it is also our office because the computer is also in our room so its frustrating to me sometimes.  I can't wait to buy a house next year so that I can just arrange and organize all the stuff in the house (right now we are living in my father in law's house).
As I was researching earlier about how to organize our messy room when I stumble this site Pimp My Cube Contest.  It is actually cool, what you going do is  just  upload a video of your cubicle or office and explain the details in the video of  why it is horrible and why you should be the one to win the grand prize of a brand new office space, a value of $1200 or a second place sweepstakes prize of a $200 gift card.  The contest will end on 1/31/2012 at 12:00 PM so hurry up and upload your video of your office/workplace and just remember it should be funny and witty so you have better chances of winning.  What are you waiting for visit the site now,  register and upload your videos, once your video got approved,  you can have your family and friends to vote for your video for more chances of winning.  For more details check this video:

Custom Shopping Bags

Looking for custom shopping bags like the European stores have? Well then look no further than Papermart where you can find all the newest designs at the best prices.  They have everything you need in a wide variety of styles and materials.  Why settle on just plain plastic shopping bags when you can have ones in vivid colors printed with your company logo?  And speaking on the topic of plastic shopping bags, I used to work at Wal-Mart.  I saw alot of strange things in my time there but the strangest had to be the cars where the worn upholstery was covered in plastic bags.  It looked really silly and is unnecessary since neoprene seat covers are available at at an attractive price today.

I love you mahal forever and for eternity.

Express Scripts Dumps Walgreens

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have a personal stake in the Express Scripts travesty that has played out when they decided they didn't need Walgreens in their network any longer.  As you may or may not know Walgreens and Express Scripts were in a lengthy contract negotiation at the end of last year in which Walgreens basically bent over backwards in order to make sure that the contract with Express Scripts was renewed.  This wasn't good enough for Express Scripts though and the contract between the two parties was ended on Jan 1st, 2012.  Since I use both Express Scripts and Walgreens I and many other customers are outraged at this lack of customer care on the part of express scripts.
Not to worry though.  Walgreens is making a special offer with their Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens to former members of the Express Scripts program.  For just $5 per year individual and $10 per year family, you will continue to be able to enjoy discounted prices on over 8,000 brand name and generic prescriptions, along with discounts on pet medications, diabetic supplies and nebulizers.  It's an amazing show of customer gratitude on the part of Walgreens so that we can continue to enjoy the same one on one service with our pharmacist that we have enjoyed over the years.
As a show of support for Walgreens you can follow Walgreens on Twitter and like Walgreens on Facebook just as I did, I urge you to help show your support of Walgreens in their fight against insurance company greed.

Propane For Surgery

I found this old ad whilst perusing the internet and just had to grab it because it was so unique.  What does Shell Petroleum have to do with surgery you may ask?  Well when they are using Cyclopropane as an anesthetic  it all becomes clear.  Doctors no longer use Cyclopropane and it's little wonder why when you read the precautions list associated with it, it was flammable, very flammable (well it is made from propane) and so it may have been a leap forward for the petroleum industry but it was little safer than the Ether that it replaced.  Also while you are at it look at the surgery scene in the ad.  It looks like a scene from M.A.S.H. as well it should since the ad comes from the early 50's.

Sunday Stealing: The Never Ending Meme, Part 1

Today we ripped off a blogger named Tense Teacher of the blog Tense for a Reason. (Yes we know that we've ripped her off not so long ago as well. It's pretty amazing since she stopped posting in 2007. But that's where we live as a thief). Also, it's long so we'll do it in parts. She does not say where she got it from. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Take the time to comment on other player's posts. It's a great way to make new friends! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!
