Need To Buy New Eye Glasses

This me with my old eye glasses

Its been almost five years that I had my eye glasses with me, It decided to surrender, last week when I accidentally broke the hinge part of it.  My husband bought it for me in 2007,  I was diagnosed with astigmatism ( I just found out last year) and I am also near sighted even when I was a kid.  I think its hereditary, because my father is also like me has a poor eye sight, His case is worse than mine  because he need to wear those kind of eye glasses that when you try it you will get dizzy and you feel like your stomach is gonna be sick.  I'm still lucky I can still be able to do things with out my eye glasses, there just certain things when I really need my eye glasses especially when its night time because I have a poor night vision.  I envy my husband though, he can actually see perfectly in night time or every time its dark he knows what's going on because his got a perfect night vision.  Anyway we are looking online were to buy new eye glasses for me, of course we want cheaper but not cheap quality also.  I found one link about progressive glasses, I am still waiting for my husband if he thinks it is a good quality but I do think they have pretty good eye glasses though and its also affordable.  Now I just need to save some money to be able to buy it I know its not cheap I think it ranges from $100 - $300 not including the eye exam.  Phew! This is the time why I miss the Philippines so much it would probably cost me less than $75 to get a new eye glasses included the eye exam.

Blackstone Cigars, a Testament to Declining Fortunes

Someone needs to tell this ladies to lay off using so much eye shadow, the raccoon look won't be popular for another 50 years.  The ad is hilarious, sorry ladies, your gifts of socks and handkerchiefs are not appreciated, only the vampy vixen with with red dress and undershadow to match gets my heart because she comes bearing the gift of Blackstone cigars.  Also, I'm not really sure what's up with the green dress shirt worn with the Tux.  Men knew better than to wear anything other than white shirts with a tux, it wouldn't be until recent times and the abomination that is "Creative Dress" that men would start trying to look like extras from Shaft at dress events.

See You Next Year Alaska!

Its been a long time since I updated this blog, that's because I have been working two part time jobs for almost 2 months now.  The last time I blog about my first job here, I was so happy and excited though I know its not gonna be easy for me. Since my first job was a Sales Associate/Cashier at a gas station/convenience store, I was really nervous and scared and at the same time excited to earn dollars for the first time in my life.  They train me for 3 days but I was shock that the training over here is not manually but in the computer you have to watch tons of video and after that there's a test that you have to take and you have to pass 85% out of 100.  First 2 weeks of my job was so stressful, I was thinking I can't do it, I want to quit already.  Its not helping that my schedule in my second job was conflicting with my first job, so my manager was having a hard time to give me longer hours.  It was last week when I find out that my manager did not give me any schedule so I think he doesn't want me to work there anymore.  I called him and he said the reason was I'm not good enough to work alone especially on weekends, they want me to work alone on a weekend where the store is pack and the line is never ending.  It is really crazy, there's one new hire an American girl, she quit just after 3 days of training she said the job is just so overwhelming, she can't do it. I did not question the decision of my manager, because I feel its a relief that I don't have to work over there anymore though I'm gonna miss seeing the money in my bank account every Friday heheh.  I think maybe the job is not really for me.

Right now I have only one job for the moment,  I am still a Sales Associate but not in a convenience store thank God I am working in one of the clothing/department store here in Jacksonville Beach.  I like it because its not that stressful and they train me really well.  The thing that I like also is I learn a lot, my first 2 weeks of training is they teach me how to be a sales associate in  home department, and right now they are training me in the backroom, processing  all the merchandise for the delivery of that day.  But for right now I am still a trainee until 2nd week of May.  I am hoping that they will like my performance and I will pass my 45 days of training.  The original plan for me was to work in Alaska this whole summer with my husband, but obviously I have a job right now I want to keep it and give it a try first.  I know its gonna be more hard for me to work in Alaska because of the weather and the kind of work over there.  I was planning to buy a car for me after I work in Alaska but Its not gonna happen for now.  I have a filipina friend also who wants to work in Alaska, like me she also got the job already but we have to cancel  the offer for now, because I already found a job here in Jacksonville, and my friend and her husband  moved to California right now due to her husband's job assignments.  She was planning to buy a car also but shes not sure yet if she want's to have a loan or not, she said she found some  advertisement about car title loans and wants to check it first if its a good deal.

Disneyland, California

I have a friend that lives out in Los Angeles California.  She calls whenever she has time, which is not so often because of her job but the last time she called she was trying to get me to take a trip to California.  See, she had got some disneyland tickets and wanted me to go out there so we could go together.  It's a great idea but the USA is huge and I live on the east coast.  It's not like I can just pick up and fly all the way to California for a week.  Also I have my jobs to think about, I don't think they'll let me have time off so soon after hiring me.  I suppose it's for the best, I need to work while my husband is in Alaska so we can have money when he's done with his job up there.

I've asked him about going to Disney World since we are so close to Orlando and he said "we'll see."  He tends to associate anything Disney with his stepfather who's dead 10 years + now but haunts his nightmares to this day.  It's ok, I understand and he said he would make the effort, maybe this year when he gets back from Alaska.  We don't have to go for long but even a short trip is so expensive.  It's another thing I'm getting tired of in the USA, the prices.  I'm off for now, I've been working every day for almost 2 months now which is why I'm not around so much to write for the blog.

Having a Great Lawn is a Snap

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts®  All opinions are 100% mine.
I have a lawn that is not the best in the world, it's green but that's mostly from weeds.  I need a way to get rid of the weeds and feed the grass but conventional spreaders are not convenient.  You have to pour in the weed n feed and then spread it on the lawn and hope you put in enough... or didn't put in too much.  In short, it's a mess.  When I first saw the Scotts® Snap® Spreader System I thought "Wow, that's a great way to get your lawn in shape for summer without all the mess!"
The Snap Spreader works with interchangeable bags that just snap on and off easily.  No more mess of spilled lawn products, not more choking clouds of dust when you fill the hopper, just snap and go.  The best part is the unique edge guard spreader that directs the lawn care products where you want it to go, not all over the driveway and sidewalks.  This year I think my lawn is going to be the envy of the neighborhood if I use the Snap Spreader System.
Right now Scott's has the Snap Perks program of Facebook with great deals and get ideas on how to use your snap spreader to it's fullest potential.  Plus if you like Snap perks on Facebook you'll get a chance to win great prizes.  So what are you waiting for, get the lawn of your dreams when you use the Snap System from Scotts.

My husband always wants to watch sports

Guest post written by Sidney Owens
There comes a time in a marriage where you realize that there is just no way for both of you to watch television together in the same room forever. I realized this about a year and a half in to my marriage. I walked in to the living room one night after dinner to find my husband watching the exact same episode of Sports Center that he had watched earlier that day. I asked him why he was watching the exact same thing and can we watch something else? He let me know that the first time he watched it he may have missed something so he always watches them twice. I was blown away. First of all, how did I not know this and second of all, I married that?! Luckily I got us hooked up with satellite television after finding  online and we have access in virtually every room of the house so I can watch whatever I want from any other room. This is how you keep a peaceful marriage I have decided.

The Jacksonville of Tomorrow

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a new owner, someone who exemplifies the American Dream even more than most Americans do these days.  He owns quite a few plants who produce car parts and like this 1938 ad I have to ask, "Would he be wise to locate his plant in Jacksonville."  Of course I'm going to say yes, I have a vested interest in seeing a move like that but I also do so because of all the reasons laid out in this old ad.  The same points still hold true today.

Now most of us don't have the money to tear off and start our own business but even so there is the digital frontier that is open to us.  Many people find that starting an online business is the way to go now and it's important to use the right SEO Marketing Company in promoting your online business.  Things are different from what they were 10 years ago when the internet was still new.  Much of this marketing could be done by yourself with good results.  Today is much different though and if you have business that is doing well it's time to take it to the next level.

Choosing the right SEO Company can be daunting though and it's important to see which services they offer.  Many companies will offer you front page ranking in search engines which is all well and good, but it's the search engine companies themselves that set the rules for how pages are displayed.  A proper SEO company will however guarantee you great results and satisfaction.  If you want to know about the company look at who their customers are.  An SEO company that has a great portfolio of clients will also be providing the best services.  As with everything, do your homework before you jump into the SEO pool and you will be assured fantastic results.
